Clinical Intern

Daniel Palmer

I'm passionate about supporting individuals and couples navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in working with caregivers, parents of neurodivergent children, and professionals balancing demanding careers with family responsibilities.

As the parent of a child with high-support-needs autism, I have a personal appreciation for the emotional and practical demands of caregiving, including the impact on relationships, identity, and personal well-being. I also spent many years in corporate leadership and communications roles, giving me firsthand insight into the pressures of professional life and the challenges of finding balance.

My counselling approach draws on psychodynamic, emotionally focused, and somatically informed perspectives. I aim to create a compassionate, collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences, better understand long-standing patterns, and develop a deeper connection with themselves and others.

I'm completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and practise under clinical supervision.

Why Choose a Clinical Intern for Therapy?

Working with a pre-licensed Clinical Intern Counsellor offers a unique blend of fresh academic knowledge, dedicated focus, and rigorous clinical oversight.

  • Accessible Pricing ($45/session): Significantly lower than the BCACC recommended fee schedule, making care sustainable for students, caregivers, and those without extended health coverage.

  • Expert Supervision: Every intern receives weekly 1-on-1 clinical supervision from Myriame Lyons, MA RCC CCC, ensuring your care is backed by expert guidance in AEDP, Somatic Experiencing, and trauma therapy.

  • Cutting-Edge Frameworks: Our interns are actively completing advanced Master's degrees (M.Ed. & M.A. in Counselling Psychology), bringing the latest clinical research directly into your sessions.

  • Smaller Caseloads: Interns maintain intentionally limited client rosters, allowing them to bring exceptional focus, energy, and care to each individual and couple.
